The standards require the use of spark-proof materials. Stainless steel is definitely non-compliant, but it is actually useful. Aluminum alloy is better to use at present.
Stainless steel definitely won’t work; aluminum alloy is generally used. Many people avoid using aluminum alloy because they think its strength is not sufficient. In fact, the standard requires that the protective cover be able to withstand a force of 900 N, which is sufficient to support a 90 kg man without it deforming. That’s why many protective covers made in China do not meet the standards. I’ve seen some factories use stainless steel on the outside and aluminum alloy on the inside to enhance strength; it is indeed a compromise solution.
