The on-site instruments are heated with steam; the inlet and return valves are fully open. There is a drain line behind the trap. By closing the inlet valve and opening the drain line for a while, hot water flows out. By closing the return valve and opening the drain line for a while, the pipes heat up. However, if both the inlet and return valves are opened at the same time, the pipes freeze after a few hours. . . . Has this happened to any of you sea friends? Or is there any information available on steam tracing? Could it be that I don’t understand it well enough? Thank you all!
The return water pipe is blocked. Or the valve isn’t open.
The steam trap may become clogged; there might be high pressure in the return pipe, and the pressure of the heating steam may not be sufficient to push the condensate into the return pipe.
It seems the back pressure of the condensate water is high.
Is it a new pipeline? I think the strainer is blocked; I’ll take it apart to check.

In short, there is no pressure difference between the supply water and the return water, which results in slow return of water or even no return at all. Another possibility is that the valve on the return water main is set too low, resulting in slow return of water.
The claim that the pressure of the steam condensate return flow is not sufficient to push the condensate back into the flash tank~
Check the trap for any blockages, and also verify whether there are any issues with its set values. If the pressure value is too high. The check valve also won’t let water pass through.
