It’s a very complex issue. Tolerances and fits can be considered the most fundamental aspects in the mechanical manufacturing process; they cannot be fully explained just by reading books. For example, when it comes to the fit between bearings and bearing housings, following the guidelines in manuals isn’t always sufficient – practical experience also plays a role. We have been working on centrifuges for over 40 years, and we often need to adjust the fit dimensions in order to find the most optimal solution. . . . . .
