Requirements for NTU in water quality testing

Hello everyone, may I ask whether for water quality testing, the NTU value should be as low as possible?
NTU: NTU stands for scattered turbidity unit, and it is an important indicator for testing water quality; it indicates the intensity of the scattered light as measured by the instrument at an angle of 90° to the incident light. The degree of turbidity in water is caused by trace amounts of insoluble suspended particles and colloidal substances present in it. The standard specified for turbidity is 1 NTU; the lower the turbidity, the better the quality of the water, while higher turbidity indicates poorer water quality.
