Understanding of the engineering specifications for bimetallic thermometers

Dear sea friends: Regarding bimetallic thermometers, our company’s engineering regulations state the following: “Bimetal type dial thermometers shall be used for local temperature indication. Filled type thermometers may be used for remote reading in case of necessity.” What does “filled type thermometers” mean? What type of thermometer is it?
Based on the understanding in the previous sentence, it should be a gas-expansion (inflatable) thermometer. I wonder if that’s right?
In China, it is generally referred to as a thermosyphon thermometer, filled with a liquid or gas that expands as the temperature changes.
Filled can be used here as a supplementary or alternative solution. It means that in addition to the bimetal, a remote temperature sensor can be installed as an auxiliary device.
A bimetallic-thermistor integrated thermometer can solve this problem, though it is quite uncommon. PS: It seems that the thermosyphon thermometer is also a local instrument, without remote transmission capability. If I remember correctly.
Thermosyphon thermometers come with local instruments, and the length of the capillary can be increased for remote transmission.
