What’s wrong with the overall chain holder on the bicycle? It’s not the kind of thing that causes a failure.

The flywheel disc on the rear wheel is broken; its teeth can no longer grip, so it needs to be replaced.
On a variable-speed vehicle, there is a chain guide at the rear, where the smaller wheels are located.
