Research on dynamic sealing issues

The company’s main product is polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). There is a dynamic seal between the end of the press reducer gearbox in the alcoholysis section and the stirring shaft; this seal is of the packing type. After the equipment has been in use for some time, traces of methanol appear at the gland of the packing box. I would appreciate it if experts could advise me on how to resolve this issue
Keep pressing the filler; if it can’t be pressed any further, add another one. If possible, replace them all – if you have the money, go for better ones.
Are there any other methods? Experts.
Introduce the operating conditions and equipment space. Is it possible to modify it into a hard-seal version?
Over time, the packing wears out, and since no timely maintenance (replacement or tightening) is carried out, the material or its volatile gases escape!
