How to conduct acceptance inspection for delivered cables?
Specification model, appearance, on/off status, length.
What was said upstairs covers it pretty well; another thing is the materials!
Cable model, cable diameter, material, appearance, length, certificate of conformity. Once, the marking on the center wire of the cable we bought was off by 100 meters

It is advisable to use a megohmmeter to check that the insulation resistance is at least 20 M ohms, both between wires and between wires and the shield； Also, the resistance value must not be higher than the standard value; a too high value indicates a low copper content. I was working on the site, and once I laid over 200 meters of cable without measuring its resistance first; as a result, there was no DC24V power supply at the site. Upon measurement, it was found that the resistance was twice too high. After laying new cables that met the requirements, everything worked properly again.
Another factor is the length of each coil; if it’s too short, there’s more waste, while if it’s too long, it’s difficult to transport and unwind. Additionally, design institutes often specify that there should be no joints in the middle of each cable coil.
Is it possible to check during the receipt inspection of goods whether there are joints in the cable inside the cable reel and whether its thickness is uniform? ? ? It can only be detected when laying the cable. Is there a better way? ? ? ? ?
It seems very difficult to detect this situation upstairs!
