I’ve always had a question: I can communicate in general English online with foreigners, but how can I make progress in chemical engineering-specific English? If there are anyone who has already achieved success in this area, I would appreciate it if you could share your experiences. Thank you!
I work as a patent transfer agent for foreign companies. The habits of listening, speaking, reading, and writing that develop over time, along with the accumulation of new words and specialized terminology on a daily basis. There are also versions corresponding to various accents, such as Indian, German, Belgian, and even those from the southern United States.

If your spoken English is flawless, you can find some open course videos from engineering universities online and try to keep up with the normal speaking pace of those engineering courses; this is also a way to practice and improve. If there’s no one to practice with, you can use simulated conversations by imagining a foreign engineer with whom you can have technical discussions, asking questions and answering them yourself – this way you can practice the usage and pronunciation of many technical terms.
