Our company is a large commercial complex; the source of reclaimed water is domestic sewage and food service wastewater. The water obtained after membrane treatment meets the standards for reclaimed water, and in some cases even exceeds the standards for tap water. The chloride content in this water is 180, which is much higher than the chloride level in actual tap water. COD is below 10, and ammonia nitrogen is below 1. From the literature available, it seems that reclaimed water is used exclusively in industrial cooling towers. Are there any relevant application examples or operational experience regarding its use in the cooling water systems of civil buildings, especially in environments where high standards are imposed on both the equipment and operating conditions?
If it is only the high chloride ion content, there should be no problem using it in conventional cooling cycle water. At least a portion can be added. Circulating cooling water used in certain industries or equipment comes with specific usage or design guidelines; you can consult relevant materials to determine whether such water can be utilized.
