As title: 1. How should fixed supports and hangers be installed for the connection pipes between pressure vessels? Do fixed supports and hangers have to be installed at the connections of pressure vessels? I think there is a force associated with the thermal expansion and contraction of pipes. If no fixed supports or hangers are installed at the connections of the pressure vessel, then this force will be applied to the pressure vessel itself. To avoid this, fixed supports or hangers need to be installed near those connections in order to prevent the transfer of this force. But in the ammonia refrigeration industry I work in, I have never seen fixed supports or hangers used; what is used are supports and hangers for bearing loads and providing guidance. 2. Another confusing issue is pipeline expansion and contraction compensation. In cold storage facilities, the straight sections of the refrigeration pipes can be several dozen meters long. According to the standards, expansion bends must be installed for pipes with a length of over 100 meters in the low-pressure category, and for pipes over 50 meters long in the high-pressure category. Is a telescopic bend a different concept from natural compensation? Natural compensation generally comes in L-shaped and Z-shaped types. Are there any requirements regarding the length of the long arm and the short arm? I’ve seen it mentioned in the power pipeline design manual that the length of the arm should not exceed 25 meters. The above problem has troubled me for a long time; I hope some experts can give me some advice.
