After the equipment was installed, the project was put on hold. How often does it take to turn the moving equipment, and what is the angle for each rotation?
It feels similar to turning a centrifugal pump’s impeller daily – once a day
During the project construction phase, the turbine is rotated once a week; during operation, it is rotated once a day. Each rotation should cover a period of no less than one week, and the rotation must be by +180° relative to the previous rotation.
For pumping equipment, once a week is sufficient.
Rotate the crank 540 degrees. Twice a week, I guess.
We require it to be done once a day, turning it two or three times back and forth. There are red and yellow marking lines on the coupling: one side has a red line and on the opposite side there is a yellow line; these two lines separate the odd and even numbers as well as the upper and lower positions.
Well, for large units and pumps, it’s sufficient to do it once a month, while for smaller ones, twice a month is enough. There is no mandatory requirement for the other shaft to rotate; it just needs not to rotate in the same direction. For large units and pumps, 30 degrees is sufficient.
For large fans, turn the shaft 90 degrees once per shift.
Once a week is sufficient; make sure to add oil (newly installed equipment sometimes overlooks this step), with the cranking angle ranging from 90 degrees to 180 degrees.
The purpose of rotating the shaft is to prevent it from remaining in the same position for an extended period, and also to ensure that the backup pump is in good condition. Some manufacturers require rotation every 3 months (for single-stage units). Of course, for pumps that are operating normally, the frequency of inspection should be higher; special attention must be paid to pumps that rely on forced lubrication.
