The No. 1 propylene tower for the Shenhua Ningxia Coal project was successfully installed. Source: Ningxia Development and Reform Commission. Publication date: October 10, 2015. Standing over 80 meters tall and weighing more than 600 tons, it was installed 46 days ahead of schedule. On the morning of September 29th, in Area B7 of the coal chemical industry park in the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base, the No. 1 propylene tower of the project aimed at the deep processing and comprehensive utilization of by-products from coal chemistry carried out by Shenhua Ningxia Coal Group was successfully installed in place. The No. 1 propylene tower is the first oversized equipment in the project for the deep processing and comprehensive utilization of coal chemical by-products; it is also the iconic equipment and core unit of this project. Its successful one-time lifting marks the transition of the project from the civil work completion phase to the installation phase. The No. 1 propylene tower is 80.5 meters in total height and weighs 607 tons. The technique required for its one-time, integral lifting into place is highly complex, presents great challenges, and demands strict operational standards. From design and construction to transportation and lifting, various departments at Shenhua Ningxia Coal Co., Ltd. carried out meticulous planning and ensured seamless coordination, enabling the tower to be installed 46 days ahead of the scheduled timeline – once again demonstrating the \"Shenning Speed\". The project for the deep processing and comprehensive utilization of coal chemical industry by-products is a supporting initiative for Shenhua Ningxia Coal’s 4 million tons per year coal indirect liquefaction project. It represents an important strategic measure for Shenhua Ningxia Coal to further extend the industrial chain related to coal-based oil production, improve the overall economic efficiency of such projects, and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the industry. The total estimated investment for this project is around 13.067 billion yuan. Construction began in September 2013, with completion planned for April 2017; the entire process was to be finalized by the end of June, followed by commercial operation in July. This project primarily uses naphtha and LPG, which are by-products of coal-to-oil and coal-to-olefins processes, as raw materials; it employs advanced cracking technologies to produce ethylene and propylene. Ultimately, it will generate 580,000 tons of polypropylene, 430,000 tons of polyethylene, 64,000 tons of butadiene, 59,000 tons of mixed benzene, and 130,000 tons of synthetic ammonia per year.
The total estimated investment for this project aimed at the deep processing and comprehensive utilization of coal chemical by-products is around 13.067 billion yuan. Is this amount included within the 55 billion yuan investment for Shenhua Ningmei’s 4 million tons per year coal indirect liquefaction project, or is it an additional cost?
It’s probably not included; the 55 billion in investment only mentions gasoline, diesel, liquefied gas, and sulfur, with no mention of olefin products
The comprehensive utilization of polypropylene and polyethylene is scheduled for completion by mid-Next Year, while the two bidding segments for pyrolysis are set to be completed by mid-October. Currently, 45.8% of the project as a whole has been completed.
Well, that crane came from the Zhongtian Hechuang project. :D
