Is it necessary to install an oxygen buffer tank for 6.5MPa water-coal slurry gasification?
Not everything is better in larger quantities! I think it’s optional
It’s still comfortable and convenient to use.
When the oxygen pipeline is long enough and the buffer capacity is large, it is entirely possible to do without an oxygen buffer tank, which is also a way to achieve cost savings in investment
How are buffer time and volume determined?
There’s no need; it’s already included in our design, and it doesn’t serve any purpose in practice
An oxygen buffer tank is still necessary. It may not seem to serve any significant purpose during normal operation, but it can play a buffering role in the event of minor fluctuations in the oxygen system. On a larger scale, it helps to prevent shutdowns or safety accidents, while on a smaller scale, it ensures the stable operation of the gasification furnace.
It’s better to have it, but the volume needs to be carefully calculated to achieve good results. When the liquid oxygen pump is switched, oxygen pressure fluctuations occur regardless of whether there is a buffer tank or not, and the control room also has to make significant adjustments. In recent years, designs have tended to favor those without buffer tanks.

It is necessary; we are here at the air separation unit.
