The multi-stage centrifugal pump used in the chemical plant has not been put into operation; it cannot be started once winter arrives. Please help analyze the reasons
Could it be that during the factory testing of the pump, the water remaining inside wasn’t removed properly, and it froze in winter?
Another possible reason is that in winter, the viscosity of lubricants and materials increases, which makes it a bit more difficult to turn the shafts – under normal conditions
The lubricant at the bearing has stuck, or water inside the pump has frozen~
I don’t know what brand of pump you are using; we also had trouble rotating it in winter. The reason for this was that the manufacturer applied molybdenum disulfide lubricant in between the shaft sleeves and bushings during production, to protect them. When the temperature drops, the viscosity of molybdenum disulfide becomes too high, which prevents the machine from rotating. If that doesn’t work, try blowing it with steam first, then coil it up.
