The hydrogenation reactors with a capacity of 3 cubic meters are not very large; their diameter ranges from 1200 mm to 1600 mm at most. The space inside the reactor, where the pressure-bearing heating coils are located, is a bit limited, but it’s still possible to implement such designs. Factors such as motor power, type and speed of the agitator, and its height above the bottom of the reactor are interrelated. First, you need to determine the motor power and speed based on the properties of the medium being stirred – such as viscosity requirements, reaction time requirements, and mixing requirements. After that, you select an appropriate agitator according to the needs of the hydrogenation reaction medium. Once the type of agitator is chosen, the structure of the agitator can be determined, and thus its height above the bottom of the reactor can also be fixed. Therefore, the key factor is to understand the properties and reaction characteristics of the medium throughout the process from feeding it into the reactor to obtaining the final product.
