The 5th Sino-US Dialogue on Work Safety and Occupational Health was held in Beijing. On December 6, the 5th Sino-US Dialogue on Work Safety and Occupational Health took place in Beijing. **Sun Huashan, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Work Safety, and David Mack, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Sun Huashan pointed out that hazardous chemical accidents occur frequently, making them a key focus and challenge in safety supervision. By concentrating on the investigation of hazardous chemical explosion incidents, China and the United States selected three specific accident cases for joint analysis, in order to share experiences and insights. This approach is of great significance for improving the supervision of hazardous chemicals and enhancing the ability to prevent such accidents. He emphasized that during this dialogue, the United States and China held extensive and in-depth discussions and analyses, reached certain consensus, and achieved positive results, laying a solid foundation for more extensive and practical exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the field of accident investigation. He called for continued deepening of exchanges and cooperation in areas such as strengthening the professional team for accident investigations, enhancing curriculum training, conducting analytical studies of typical cases, and establishing mechanisms for cooperation and knowledge sharing, in order to further consolidate the outcomes of these dialogues and develop a set of practices that can be applied as models. More than 20 people attended the dialogue, including representatives from the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. embassy in China, as well as representatives from relevant departments of the General Administration of Work Safety and the Chemical Registration Center. It is reported that since 2012, the **General Administration of Work Safety and the U.S. Department of Labor have held four ministerial-level dialogues in succession. During the fifth round of discussions, the participants had comprehensive and in-depth exchanges on topics such as cooperation among accident investigation agencies, the independence of the accident investigation process, and the disclosure of accident reports.
