Ma Long and Wu Minxia were named the best male and female athletes respectively, while Lang Ping and the Chinese women’s volleyball team won the titles of best coach and best team. Zhang Jike and Fu Yuanhui were awarded as the most popular male and female athletes. “The “China’s Top 10 Lawrence Champions Award” is an award that arises from the combination of the “Lawrence World Sports Awards,” known as the “Oscars of sports,” and the long-established “Selection of China’s Top 10 Athletes.” The selection process consists of three stages: a public preliminary vote, a second round of voting by a jury, and an award ceremony. The top 3 candidates (or candidate teams) with the most votes for each award proceed to the second round, where the jury casts internal votes to determine the winners. 　　Marlon was named the best male athlete.
