A plate tower with only a feed and a product outlet, but no reflow at the bottom of the tower

As the title suggests, it’s a plate tower with an inlet at the top and an outlet at the bottom; there is only product discharge and no reflux. What’s going on? Similar to flashing?
Is the feed being used as reflux? The feed is on the first tray at the top of the tower
I took a look; there is only feeding at the middle, while the top and bottom of the tower have only outlets, no reflux
It’s required by the manufacturing process; as long as there is no reflux, the process requirements can be met
This approach is feasible: 1. There is no distillation at the top of the tower. 2. A reboiler is used at the bottom of the tower to control the temperature there, in order to ensure the quality of the product at that level. 3. The feed is equivalent to the reflux at the lower part of the tower.
