For long-term shutdowns, operation must be halted; for short-term use, purified air is employed, while steam is used to loosen tight areas

The purified air can mix with the unpurified air. Additionally, there is steam present at all the points where relaxation occurs in the design; some design firms use dry gas for such relaxation purposes. So, it’s not necessarily necessary to stop.

I’m not sure how you designed it, but in our facility, the purified air and the unpurified air are actually the same type of air. Before entering the facility, it’s called industrial air; once inside, it splits into three streams: purified air, unpurified air, and process-purified air. If any of these streams need to stop flowing, then the entire facility has to shut down.

The unpurified air in the system is primarily used at the service stations and at the loose connections of the reactors, as well as for small-scale material transfer. When the supply of unpurified air is interrupted, the system can generally continue to function for a certain period of time; the exact duration depends on the size of the system. During this period, the most important thing is first to switch the loosening points of the two devices to steam in order to ensure proper circulation of the catalyst. On the other hand, the wall valves of those devices that do not have such switching points should be closed, to prevent the catalyst from flowing back into the pipelines and causing sludge formation that could lead to pipeline blockages. Close the wall valve of the small feeder to prevent hot catalyst from flowing back. Restore non-purified air to the utility systems as soon as possible.
