In a project I worked on recently, a screw vacuum pump was used for the vacuum pumping task. Screw vacuum pumps do have certain advantages; they are suitable for high-vacuum applications, occupy less space, and the vacuum pump system can be integrated into a single unit. The higher-quality models are mostly imported, as there aren’t many manufacturers in China that can produce them at a high standard. However, the initial investment is too high; an imported screw vacuum pump costs as much as several ordinary water ring vacuum pumps or a combination of a water ring vacuum pump and a Roots vacuum pump – the investment is simply too large!

Hello, in high-vacuum applications we usually use water pump + Roots pump or water ring + jet pump; we have never used screw pumps. Are screw vacuum pumps really that effective? One replacing another in a combination?
