I encountered a problem while working on the process for air storage tanks: Are process cards required for the cover and shell sections of the oval-shaped access manhole? In particular, the part of the tube section that is exposed outside the tube body is at atmospheric pressure, while the inside is under external pressure. Is it considered a primary stressed component?
Since the manhole is larger than 250, it is a primary pressure-bearing component; it requires machined end faces and longitudinal seams, and the flange cover needs to have a machined surface – all of these involve specific manufacturing processes.

What the original poster means is that standard components don’t require any processing procedures? For components that are standard, all their parts still need to be processed, so processing procedures are necessary.
