For the methanol storage area, which represents a major hazard source, additional isolation valves are needed, as well as cables, instrument air, and other such items. Are there any regulations regarding the explosion-proof rating or safety requirements for these elements?
Whether the selected instruments are explosion-proof depends on the explosion-proof zone classification determined in the preliminary design. For sites with high levels of hazard, the safety supervision agency requires the use of a SIS system; in such cases, a HAZOP analysis must be conducted first, followed by the development of an SRS, after which the SIS manufacturer will carry out SIL calculations
Previously, the tank area did not have any control valves; there was only a radar level gauge, and wire ducts were used. Now, cut-off valves are to be installed, along with fiberglass cable trays and shielded cables of 2*1.5 gauge at 220V voltage. It’s not clear whether this meets the safety requirements

Regarding solenoid valves, it depends on whether your explosion-proof zone is classified as Zone 0, Zone 1, or Zone 2; the solenoid valve should be selected according to this classification. Using 220V in Zone 0 would present problems.
