What is the function of high-pressure Y-type stop valves used in hydrogenation units? What is their structure? What are the process requirements? Why are Y-type valves used?
Our hydrogenation units also use high-pressure Y-type stop valves; their function is quite simple – to regulate the flow rate of the medium, as well as to shut off the flow. As for its internal structure, it is similar to that of a regular globe valve; it features a pressure-self-sealing valve cover made of 316 material. The connection methods include welding at one end and using flanges at the other end, or welding at both ends. Its advantages include those of a regular shut-off valve; it is also wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, has good friction resistance, and a long service life. It features a self-sealing structure – the higher the pressure, the tighter the seal, resulting in reduced risk of leakage. As for the process requirements, they all involve high-pressure hydrogenation units; hydrogen exerts hydrogen embrittlement effects at high pressures, and this is extremely dangerous – even a slight leak can lead to an explosion. Therefore, high-pressure Y-type stop valves are used.

High-pressure Y-type stop valves have relatively low flow resistance due to their structural design. Moreover, it is more suitable for manufacturing valves that can withstand high pressure. This type is commonly used for high-pressure valves.
