Why is the chemical plant flare line angled at 45 degrees?
45 degrees of inclination is a bit much; I haven’t seen it yet. I’m not sure if it’s to prevent liquid from accumulating in the pipes, or it’s due to insufficient installation space.
Generally, there isn’t such a large angle
I guess what the original poster means is that some parts are at a 45-degree angle; it’s generally not possible for the angle to remain at 45 degrees throughout the day. Otherwise, with such a slope, the factory area would be extremely uneven. It could be an elevated flare; the vent pipelines are relatively short, running from the ground pipe supports, and when entering the cylinder, they are connected via a 45-degree elbow

It is mainly for safety reasons; there is concern that liquid in the flare could cause the flare pipeline to shift, leading to accidents.
It’s supposed to prevent liquids from leaking out
