What is a thermal insulation material similar to cement?

I’ve seen it on several occasions – for example, on reaction vessels and heat transfer oil pumps – there’s a thick layer of something resembling cement on the outside. If it weren’t for the fact that it’s equipment, I would really think it was a cement sculpture. It seems it needs to be poured; is this expanded cement?

It’s hard to say for sure that the oil furnace in boilers is made of cement! The innermost layer provides good insulation; then, depending on the requirements, two to four layers of insulating materials such as silica cotton are added, and finally, some cement or insulating cast material is poured on the outer layer! There must be experts in the group who know the answer; take a photo of them and ask them to give you a professional response!
