Installation direction of the check valve on the riser

The construction manager called to ask whether the installation of the check valve on the steam riser on site was incorrect I opened the axonometric view; a steam pipe connects to a horizontal branch near the platform, and from there a vertical pipe is fitted with a shut-off valve, an 8-shaped blind plate, and a swing check valve. A root valve located below the platform leads into the tower.
When a swing check valve is installed in a vertical pipe, the flow direction of the fluid should be from bottom to top.
The direction is reversed; for horizontal or vertical pipes, it should be from bottom to top
The check valve was required to be added after the model review; I checked the original layout and there were no issues with it. There was little time left after the model review; for such small pipes, the level of risk is not high, so the drawings were produced right after verification, and neither the design nor the verification process took this issue into account.
