Since the throttle valve regulates flow rate while also changing the pressure drop as a result of that flow rate, can these two types of valves be used interchangeably to some extent? Is that the case? If a distinction must be made, then where are these two types of valves used respectively?
One controls the pressure, the other controls the flow rate! It cannot be used universally
But a throttle valve can also control a certain pressure, although it changes according to the pressure before the valve
A throttle valve has the function of throttling to reduce pressure and temperature, and these two functions go hand in hand. If you only need to reduce pressure, then a pressure reducing valve should be used; a throttle valve cannot be used as a substitute. The same principle applies in reverse. I wonder if that’s what it means
It’s mainly due to concerns regarding fraud; throttle valves are cheaper. In applications where specific requirements aren’t high, can orifice plates or throttle valves be used as alternatives to reduce costs?
