For gas pipelines, with just a few pneumatic valves and some gas required for instruments, is it feasible to use compressed air cylinders as a source of gas, with a filtering device installed after the cylinders to ensure that the gas supplied is clean? I wonder if any expert has experience in this area.
1. Under normal circumstances, it is not recommended to use compressed air directly from a cylinder. 2. Since pneumatic valves require air pressure to be stabilized at around 0.5 MPa, the air volume coming out of the compressor tank after passing through the pressure regulator is insufficient, making it impossible to provide a stable pressure of air. The valve operation lacks stability.
Sometimes gas cylinders are used as a backup to maintain pressure in case of a gas supply interruption in the factory.

It’s best to use a bus; the key factor here is your level of usage. In fact, the drive usage is not high; there is some leakage and exhaust loss during the adjustment process. There is a problem: if the valve does not operate but there is no leakage, a constant pressure will be established, leading to overpressure. So you must be using gas constantly; then how long can a single gas cylinder last?
