When a steam pipe passes through a fire wall and the opening is sealed with non-combustible materials as required by regulations, can the steam pipe still be moved back and forth? Regarding stress analysis, it would be great to have photos from the site.

If it’s not a firewall, there’s no need for sealing; it can be moved around freely. If it is a firewall, it needs to be sealed; there should be no movement, and fixing brackets should be installed as close as possible to the holes.
It seems that according to clause 6.1.6 of the building fire protection codes, pipes should not pass through fire walls; if it is necessary for them to do so, the gap between the wall and the pipe must be tightly filled with fire-resistant materials.
