As shown in the figure: May I ask whether a large-end and small-end flange can be directly welded to a flat weld flange? Is it not necessary to add a straight pipe section in the middle? Are there any standard specifications? Only the statement \"SH3012: Flat welding flanges should not be welded directly to elbows without a straight pipe section\" was found; it does not specify whether flat welding flanges can be welded directly to tees I’m asking fellow sailors for help.
Personally, I think it’s not possible; can the insertion depth be guaranteed?
If the straight edge length of the misshapen head is long enough to fit inside the flange, it should work. However, according to the length of standard pipe fittings, the straight section should not be that long; it would be appropriate to add a 200mm straight pipe segment
In my opinion, socket weld flanges and slip weld flanges can be welded directly to butt weld flanges, while plug weld flanges cannot be welded directly to them because it is not possible to ensure the proper insertion depth.
The previous floors mentioned the need to ensure a proper insertion depth, but even if this can be achieved, it is not allowed according to the standards; there must be a short section of pipe between pipe fittings, as well as between pipe fittings and flanges.
In terms of size, it feels a bit tight； I’m not sure if there are any regulations regarding this.
There shouldn’t be such a requirement in the standards, right?
