What is the difference between octagonal pads, lens pads, and elliptical pads? Can all three types of gaskets be used for the flanges at the ring connection surfaces? What about the falcon groove surface?

For ring-connected flanges, only metal ring gaskets (i.e., the so-called octagonal gaskets) can be used; for tenon-and-mortise flanges, metal wound gaskets, covered gaskets, and non-metallic flat gaskets can be employed. I’ve never heard of a \"lens gasket\" – if it refers to a gasket between a lens flange and a pipe flange on a pipeline, it is simply an ordinary gasket and cannot be called a lens gasket. Elliptical gaskets, like octagonal gaskets, also belong to the category of metal ring gaskets.
