As the title suggests, can factory engineers obtain a pressure pipeline design certificate? Because most of the process pipelines in our company are pressure pipelines. Without that certificate, it’s basically very difficult to carry out technical upgrades, right?

For the renovation or construction of pressure pipelines, it is necessary for a qualified design unit to produce construction drawings and affix the corresponding pressure pipeline design seal on them. 2. This qualification and seal belong to the company, not to an individual. To apply for this qualification, certain requirements must be met, including regard to personnel, premises, equipment, etc. 3. Now, not only is there no certification for design work, but there’s also no certification for review processes. **Individual qualifications have been revoked, but organizational qualifications remain unchanged. May I ask whether for ordinary minor technical upgrades in a factory, it is necessary to have a design firm issue a stamp or drawings, or can one prepare the relevant drawings by oneself?
Technical upgrades work this way: things have to be done in accordance with regulations; if it’s not a pressure pipeline, you can modify it as you wish； For any pressure pipeline, an engineering design firm must produce official drawings in accordance with relevant standards and regulations; thereafter, you submit them for inspection before starting construction and conducting inspections upon completion. But then, doing this is very troublesome, because technical modifications often change frequently – if something isn’t working well after a modification, it has to be changed back. Following the regulations requires a lot of time and money. My advice is: 1. Find a design institute to collaborate with; for minor modifications, you can create the drawings yourself and consult the design institute to have them check whether it is safe. 2. Confirm that there are no safety issues with the technical modification, proceed with it; if the results are satisfactory after the modification, decide to stick with this approach and have the design institute prepare the drawings. 3. The regulation of pressure pipelines is very strict nowadays; regular inspections are required, and special inspection agencies will come to conduct checks. You can gather all the modifications related to the pressure pipelines before the inspection and have a design firm prepare corresponding drawings.
