The process for producing lithium chloride using the calcium chloride method involves a chlorinated solution medium; the operating temperature is around 60 degrees, and the pressure is the usual pressure at the pump outlet, namely 0.3 MPa. There are two pumps with a relatively high head, reaching 1.0 MPa. What is a suitable material for pipes in this situation? Currently, steel-reinforced polyethylene composite pipes, FRPP pipes, or steel-lined PO, or steel-lined PTFE are under consideration. However, the specifications state that the operating temperature for steel-reinforced polyethylene composite pipes is up to 70 degrees, which is not suitable for my current manufacturing process; therefore I don’t want to use them. Yet the client prefers this material very much ; FRPP pipes require a short support distance from the pipe rack ; The client believes that steel-lined pipes are inconvenient to install, and suggests using them less often. Moreover, steel-lined PTFE is expensive. From my personal perspective, I still think a steel-lined PTFE option is more suitable for the current manufacturing processes. Of course, steel-lined PTFE is the preferred choice – reliability and safety come first.
A steel lining of F4 is relatively reasonable. The initial investment is a bit high, but it’s a one-time solution.
Which is better, steel-lined PO or steel-lined polytetrafluoroethylene?

Our chlor-alkali brine also has a temperature of around 60°C, and steel-reinforced PE pipes are used for it; however, the design institute does not recommend their use, yet they are still employed due to their excellent corrosion resistance
