Difference between HIC test for hydrogen-induced cracking and SSC test

The standards for HIC testing are NACE TM0284, GB/T8650, and NACE TM0175; the standards for SSC testing are NACE TM0177, NACE TM0175, and GB/T4157. The duration of the HIC test is 96 hours, while that of the SSC test is 720 hours. The dimensions for the HIC test are 100*20 (with a thickness not exceeding 20); the dimensions for the SSC test are 130*(30/15)*2, φ6.35. The solutions used in the HIC test, as well as the gases introduced, are the same as those used in the SSC test. In the SSC test, a load is applied to the sample for 720 hours after which it is removed, cleaned, and examined under a stereomicroscope. For the HIC test, the sample is removed after 96 hours, cleaned, cut, polished, and then inspected under a microscope to check for any cracks or issues. Let’s discuss these matters together.
