Sharing experiences using SolidWorks for piping diagrams

It’s also related to the chemical industry; sometimes it’s necessary to create pipe diagrams to facilitate budgeting and detailed planning. I happened to discover that SolidWorks has a plugin for creating such diagrams, so I tried to find video tutorials online – unfortunately, there are hardly any free ones. I had to figure it out on my own, and I’ve been using this tool for almost 2 years now. The feeling is that the free piping plugin included with SolidWorks can be used to create piping diagrams, but its drawback is that it makes it difficult to keep track of all the materials used; it requires substantial computing resources, and it’s not possible to generate single-line diagrams with it. The advantage is that the model is very intuitive and the results are realistic; the 3D pipeline diagrams produced are highly useful for construction purposes.
It consumes a significant amount of resources; even when using the Routing plugin, it still requires a lot of resources. It’s frustrating enough – I’m going to switch to PDMS instead
Here’s a simple method that doesn’t require plugins. Use the 3D sketch in the assembly drawing to outline the pipeline path. Then copy the 3D sketch to the part, scan to generate the pipeline, and set the shell thickness. Any type of pipeline can be manufactured.
Personally, I think the models created with 3D software are very intuitive; SolidWorks is rarely used for piping work
Impressive, really – the 3D version looks quite beautiful. It’s a pity I’ve forgotten all the SolidWorks skills I learned in college
I think this method isn’t simple; moreover, piping doesn’t just involve drawing the pipes – there are also flanges, fasteners, valves, and so on.
Can the OP exchange resources? I’m also using SW piping with all my effort right now
All of his components are of American standard; how can they be changed to Chinese standard?
