This is a control valve and a flow meter on the flowchart; the pink dashed line indicates interlock. Why are FY and FIC located next to the control valve FV? These two symbols don’t represent instruments, do they? ； What does FE under the flow meter FT mean? Also, I would like to ask how remote operation is achieved and how it connects to the DCS system?
First of all, there are no pictures. Secondly: FV refers to the control valve itself; FE is usually a throttling element such as a flow orifice plate; FT is the transmitter (which converts differential pressure signals into electrical signals for transmission to the control cabinet along with the DCS); FIC is the flow regulator of the control valve; FY is the electrical conversion component (which converts the electrical output signals from the regulator into instrument air pressure to control the opening and closing of the control valve).
