In our factory, we use a hot potassium alkali solution (an aqueous mixture of potassium carbonate and potassium bicarbonate), with a temperature of around 110 degrees. The valve model used is CZ40H-100. Just a few months after it was installed in the system, corrosion was detected on the valve’s sealing surface, resulting in severe leakage. According to the valve manufacturer, the sealing surface material for this type of valve is 3CR13. Have other professionals encountered similar problems? Is 3CR13 material not resistant to alkaline corrosion? Solve!
