There are some posts on the forum regarding the differences between blind plates and blind flanges; it’s difficult to explain these two concepts clearly in just a few words. So, what are the differences in management? Blind flanges: labeling/numbering, maintenance records, procedures for installation and removal, designated person in charge, the person who installs it must also remove it (and vice versa). Blind flanges: ? ? ?
What kind of problem is this? What the heck are blind plates and blind flanges? Is there a difference? Isn’t it just one thing? Aren’t they all flange covers?
A blind plate generally refers to an 8-shaped blind plate or a plug-and-ring type blind plate; it is a fitting used for maintenance, and usually the person who operates it is responsible for storing it and restoring it to its original position; A blind flange is a simple pipe fitting used to seal behind valves or to block spare ports.
It doesn’t seem so, right? We used blind flanges for pressure testing, but the guys at the shipyard simply processed steel plates to match the shape of the flanges – that is, they made the bolt hole sizes identical – and then used those plates for pressure testing.
Blind flanges, imitation classification: lol is divided into permanent blind flanges and temporary blind flanges. And the process technician from the relevant local unit acts as the “blind plate commander”. Whether a blind flange is installed or removed, it requires confirmation and signature from the Blind Flange Supervisor before work can proceed. Permanent blind plates are usually used in less frequently accessed areas such as manholes, handholes, and pipe end caps. Temporary flanges are mainly used for temporary isolation processes such as equipment pipeline replacement and material discharge. As for the “blind flange,” it is merely a way of indicating a fixed flange. There are also blind valve (goggle valve) installed on special pipelines involving flammable, explosive, toxic, or harmful substances; these are merely the most reliable method for shutting off the flow of materials in such pipelines.
Dizzy. Who invented it? The term \"blind plate\" – does your diagram refer to an eight-character blind plate? A blind flange is simply a flange cover; wouldn’t it be clearer to just call it an eight-character blind plate? An eight-character blind plate is essentially the same as a two-character blind plate. When did it start being called a \"blind plate\"?
Do you call it that there too? Is an eight-character blind plate simply called a blind plate?
I’m curious – aren’t blind plates and blind flanges both just flange covers?
