What are the requirements for installing thermal dynamic steam traps on steam pipes? Our installation sequence is stop valve, filter, and steam trap. Should there be a straight pipe section before the steam trap?
It is best to install a bypass valve, so that drainage can still occur properly during maintenance or when replacing the steam trap, and it can also assist with drainage at the beginning of operation.
Referring to the pressure rating, it is advisable to install two manual valves in front of the filter to facilitate subsequent maintenance. The straight-through valve should be placed between the primary and secondary valves; it should be opened during startup or under abnormal operating conditions to allow direct discharge, while the secondary valve should be closed to protect the filter and the steam trap
