However, these gaskets are rarely used these days. Over time, they may lose their sealing properties, absorb the fluid flowing through them leading to leaks, age, and be pushed out under pressure, resulting in damage – among other negative effects. Therefore, I would like to ask if there are any standards or regulations that prohibit the use of asbestos rubber gaskets?

Various gaskets are designed for different uses, and can be used as long as they fit within that specific application. The scope of application of a product is the standard you need to use. As asbestos is carcinogenic, its use should be avoided.
