Hello to those who are familiar with PVC plants: I have a question regarding the valves used in PVC plants. I have been researching the valves used in such plants recently, as this is new to me. I have previously studied some rather special valves used in PP plants, and I wonder if there are similar types of valves in polymerization processes as well. However, since the media and pressures differ, there must be significant differences as well. I’m interested in knowing which valves related to the process and instrumentation are particularly special. If anyone who is familiar with these plants could share their knowledge, I would be very grateful. Thank you in advance! ! !

PVC slurry is a material containing solid particles; full-bore ball valves should be used, and the gas pipelines for the monomers require valves with good sealing properties. In Europe, plug valves are commonly used, but ball valves can also be employed. Some catalysts are made of materials suitable for low temperatures; the other valves have no special requirements. You can ask more questions about specific pipelines.
Mainly, imported valves are used in the polymerization reactor; they are quite corrosive and leakage is not allowed.
