Can lithium-based molybdenum disulfide grease be applied to the valve stem? Which is better, butter or grease? What about the anchor bolts?
As long as the medium inside the valve does not undergo a chemical reaction with the grease, it is suitable. For example, oil-free valves such as those for oxygen and liquid oxygen cannot be lubricated with such oils.
Alloy steel and carbon steel can be coated. For austenitic stainless steels such as 304, coating is not recommended
What if the medium is an organic solvent such as toluene, xylene, methanol, ethanol, or ethyl formate?
For each substance, its physical and chemical properties must be checked; those that do not meet the requirements cannot be used.
