Seawater desalination pipeline design

Colleagues, titanium is used for the seawater desalination pipes. May I ask if reinforced flexible graphite can be used as gaskets? The pipe flange rating is 2.0 MPaG, and the seawater temperature is assumed to be at normal conditions.
May I ask the original poster why graphite gaskets were chosen? For seawater at room temperature, PTFE and natural rubber gaskets would work just as well. For graphite gaskets, the metal part must be of the same material as the pipeline; the choice of titanium by the original poster was likely due to concerns regarding corrosion caused by Cl ions. The metal part of that graphite gasket should also be made of titanium.
Rubber or plastic ones will work; they are cheap and effective. PTFE is the king of plastics
