The valve body is marked with WCB, and the mechanical performance of the valve is grade B. What does mechanical performance of a valve mean?

It refers to tensile strength and yield strength; WCB is commonly used, though WCC is required in some cases. For WCA, WCB, and WCC in A216/A216M, the basic meaning of their designations is as follows: W indicates weldability, C denotes cast status, while A, B, and C represent the strength grades of carbon cast steel – with A indicating lower strength, B indicating medium strength, and C indicating higher strength. When higher strength is required, WCC should be used, as it contains a higher amount of Mn, which enhances the strengthening effect on the steel and thus increases the σs value.
