A batch of steel pipes has arrived at the construction site; the material description provided in the design is 022Cr19Ni10, suitable for temperatures down to -101°C. I would like to ask what types of tests need to be included in the material certification document for this type of material. **Standard GB/T 14976 does not mention any requirements related to -101°C. Which standard can I refer to for information on -101°C? What is the difference between 304L and 304L at -101℃? How do I know that the 304L purchased by the manufacturer at -101℃ meets the design requirements?
-101℃ is likely not a requirement specified in the standards; rather, it is the design temperature under operating conditions for your stainless steel, which is -101℃. The material should be tested for low-temperature impact resistance in accordance with the standards GB 50316
According to GB20801.2, the minimum operating temperature for 304L stainless steel pipes is -253°C, which is sufficient to meet working temperatures of -101°C.
