GB/T 32270 \"Code for Pressure Piping – Power Piping\" specifies that this standard applies only to thermal power plants, but does it also cover the external piping of boilers in chemical plants (BEP)? If GB/T 32270 is equivalent to ASME B31.1, then the external boiler pipes (BEP) in chemical plants should fall under the scope of GB/T 32270. GB/T 32270 does not provide an explanation like ASME B31.1 does; ASME B31.1 states that it is also applicable to the pipes outside boilers in chemical plants (BEP). In accordance with TSG G0001-2012 \"Regulations on the Safety Technical Inspection of Boilers\", the external piping of boilers in chemical plants (BEP) falls under the supervision of TSG G0001. However, according to the American classification, ASME BPVC Section I is a standard for boilers and pressure vessels; it does not cover the technical regulations regarding the external piping of boilers in chemical plants (BEP). Enterprise-owned power stations are classified as small thermal power stations, and regional boiler rooms can follow electrical codes. The power specifications for boiler operation are the most professional; those for the chemical/petroleum industries merely include some additional regulations tailored to the specific conditions of those sectors. The thermal power plant/boiler room in a chemical plant can be defined as a thermal power plant, thereby meeting the requirements of GB/T 32270. As for piping specifically, the pipes connected to the boiler can basically be classified as power pipes, but once such pipes extend outside the thermal power plant, they fall under the jurisdiction of industrial pipes.

The guiding significance of GB/T 32270 is to define the scope of power pipelines, as well as the design temperature and design pressure. For the actual design of thermal power plants, DL/T 5054 is used; GB 50764 is indicated in the design specifications, while GB/T 32270 plays almost no role. The construction standard is DL 5190, and the acceptance standard is DL/T 5210; there’s nothing to do with GB/T 32270.
It seems that GB/T 32270 exists merely to fulfill requirements and improve the overall pressure pipeline system
Domestic regulations are really annoying; in the 1950s and 1960s, thermal power plants didn’t even have 32270
