Thermal resistors are the most commonly used temperature sensors in the medium and low temperature ranges. Thermistor temperature measurement is based on the property that the resistance value of a metal conductor increases as the temperature rises. Common fault phenomena of thermal resistors and their solutions are as follows: 1. Fault phenomenon: The indicated value of the thermal resistor is lower than the actual value, or the indication is unstable ; Possible causes: metal shavings and dust inside the protective tube, dirt between the terminals, and short circuit of the thermal resistor ; Solution: Remove metal shavings, clean off dust, water droplets, etc., and locate the short circuit point to enhance insulation. 2. Fault phenomenon: The reading on the thermal resistor indicates infinity ; Possible causes: short circuit in the thermistor or its leads, or loose wiring terminals, etc ; Solution: Replace the resistor element, or weld and tighten the wiring screws, etc. 3. Fault symptom: The display instrument shows a negative value ; Possible cause: There is an error in the wiring between the display instrument and the thermal resistor, or the thermal resistor is short-circuited ; Solution: Correct the wiring, or locate the short circuit and improve insulation. 4. Fault phenomenon: The relationship between the thermistor value and temperature has changed ; Possible cause: Corrosion and deterioration of the thermistor wire material ; Solution: Replace the thermoresistor.
