There are many types of valves, and for valves from different manufacturers, not only do their functions vary, but the methods used for maintenance also differ. So how should we choose the right approach for maintenance? Today, the manufacturer will guide us through this. A pneumatic check valve is a valve in which the valve disc slides along the center line of the valve body. The tubular check valve is a newly developed type of valve; it is small in size, light in weight, and easy to manufacture, representing one of the future development directions for check valves. However, the fluid resistance coefficient is slightly higher than that of the swing check valve. The carbon steel check valve is a valve used for shutting off boiler feed water and steam; it combines the functions of a lift-type check valve with those of a globe valve or angle valve. Depending on the operating conditions, the disc of a US standard check valve can be of all-metal construction, or it can consist of a rubber gasket or ring embedded in a disc frame. 1. Generally, soft-sealed ball valves use PTFE as the sealing material, while the sealing surfaces of hard-sealed ball valves are made through metal surfacing. If a pipeline ball valve needs to be cleaned, care must be taken during disassembly to prevent damage to the seal and resulting leakage. 2. If the valve is to be cleaned, the solvent used must not be incompatible with the components being cleaned, nor must it cause corrosion. For gas-specific ball valves, they can be cleaned with gasoline; other parts are generally cleaned with treated water. When cleaning, make sure to remove all remaining dust, oil, and other contaminants. If plain water is not sufficient for cleaning, use solvents such as alcohol carefully, as long as it does not damage the components or parts in question. After cleaning, ensure that the solvents have completely evaporated before reassembling the device. 3. Prolonged storage in the open air can cause the valve body and its components to rust, rendering them unusable. Ball valves should be stored in a place that is protected from rain, water, and moisture, with the flange cover sealed tightly. Valves that have been stored for more than 12 months should be tested again before use to ensure their proper performance. 4. When the ball valve is in the closed position, some fluid remains inside the valve body, and it is under certain pressure. Before performing maintenance on the ball valve, close the stop valve upstream of it and open the ball valve that needs to be serviced in order to completely release the pressure inside the valve body. If it is a pneumatic ball valve, the power and air supply must be disconnected first. 5. If there is slight leakage from the packaging during use, the valve stem nut can be tightened slightly until the leakage stops; it should not be tightened any further. When servicing different valves during maintenance, it is necessary to pay attention to these details to ensure optimal valve performance.
