Pipeline drain length issue

As the title suggests, in the design, what should be the length of the drain or vent pipe for the pipeline? Are there any standard requirements? It is too long and prone to freezing in winter (when the medium is water or steam), which can damage pipes or valves. It is only known that the distance between the two circumferential welds must not be less than 50 mm (for sizes below DN150).
What was seen on site was mostly around 10 cm

I’m not sure about the standard either; in the plant where I used to work, everything I saw was basically this long
